The Rules
The rules for my experiment are quite simple. Here is the list:
1) The book purchased must cost a dollar or less.
2) Taxes are not taken into account as they change from region to region (some don't have taxes on books!)
3) No style of book will be ignored; all goes!
4) All books must have a receipt (a proof of purchase) and in the case of multiple books bought on the same trip, copies of the receipt. These will be clipped to the book.
5) Each book will be read in its entirety and reviewed.
A post will be made for each book. The nature of the review will differ from other book review websites, since we are principally asking ourselves a single question: is the book worth the price paid?
Forget the author's talent, plot twists and philosophy. We are taking this in simpler terms. Will the reader gain anything from reading it? Is the newfound knowledge worth the dollar? We will answer that question.
I mean "we" because I will not be the only reader on this blog. Reading 250 books is not something I can achieve in a year, let alone two; I have other projects and a social life. Close friends will blog in guest reviews from time to time. Always with books I have purchased and never with any of their own.
More will be explained as this blog goes on.
