Freud is probably one of the most known figures in the world of psychology and every layman today could explain the most basic principles Freud has penned down. This book, A Prime of Freudian Psychology, does pretty much what its title implies; it explains the principles of Freud's works, all in layman's terms.
Reviewing this is not simple. There is no story; it is just a report of facts and theories. the book is short and sadly dated; the edition I have is from 1954 and it shows.
Is it worth a dollar?
Is it an easy read? No. It was probably one of the longest read I have had, for so short a book. You have to really dig psychology and appreciate Freud's works to enjoy reading this book. I would suggest reading it to anyone who have never heard of Freud but that is very unlikely. Most people will know of the Id, Ego and Supergo and while the book goes further than that, the main focus remains on their differences, causes and effects. I would not recommend it to everyone.
